It was a night to remember for Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Procurement Team, who scooped not one, not two, but three major honours at the prestigious GO Excellence in Public Procurement Awards.

The team kicked off their winning streak by taking home the Procurement Transformation Through Technology Award, sponsored by Fortinet, for their innovative Live Supplier Directory, a digital tool designed to bridge the ‘Supplier Void’ and make it easier for local businesses to connect with public sector opportunities.  The project was funded internally by SPF funding and completed in partnership with local supplier –Simply Do

Their success continued with the Collaborative Procurement Initiative Award, which detailed the work of the Welsh public sector collaboration food group.  The award was sponsored by Ffrâm24, celebrating Caerphilly CBC’s commitment to partnership working and sharing best practice across the sector.

And to top off an incredible evening, Caerphilly CBC was crowned the overall GO Excellence Award Winner, for the Innovative Live Supplier Directory developed in Partnership with Simply Do.  The award sponsored by Sureserve, securing a historic hat-trick and firmly placing the team among the very best in UK public procurement.

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Deputy Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, congratulated the team on their success:

“We are incredibly proud of our Procurement Team and the amazing work they do to deliver innovation, value, and real benefits for our communities.

Winning three awards in one night is an outstanding achievement and a testament to their hard work, creativity and commitment to making the council a leader in public procurement. Huge congratulations to everyone involved!”
