Hat-trick of Labour failures on the Welsh economy
The latest Welsh employment figures have revealed that employment fell 33,508 in 2022. Completing the Labour Government’s hat-trick of failure, the figures also show a 6,301 rise in unemployment and an increase of 36,378 people who are economically inactive.
Commenting, Welsh Conservative Leader, Andrew RT Davies MS said:
“The latest employment figures are bitterly disappointing, given that Wales should be in full recovery mode post-pandemic.
“The Labour Government had and missed the opportunity with their latest budget to listen to constructive Welsh Conservative calls to reform business rates, support business’ green transition and provide relief for employees and employers.
“These figures come as no surprise from a Labour Party that cancels road building, slaps a tax on the tourism sector and admitted that they ‘don’t know what they’re doing on the economy’.”
