(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council have made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit any person from causing any person to proceed along the following lengths of roads:
Closure 1 – Mill Street, from its junction with Rhondda Road, south eastwards for a distance of 225 metres. Pontypridd Inner Relief Road from its junction with Sardis Road for a distance of 100 metres
Closure 2 – Mill Street, from its junction with Rhondda Road, south eastwards for a distance of 260 metres. Pontypridd Inner Relief Road from its junction with Sardis Road for a distance of 100 metres. Sardis Road (westbound) from its junction with Mill Street, southwards for 84 metres.
It is expected to be operative via Sunday closures from 0730 hours (7:30am) to 2300 hours (11:00pm), and / or overnight closures from 0030 hours (12:30am) to 0600 hours (6:00am) on any day of the week, as and when necessary from 2nd July 2017 to 31st October 2017, or until such time as the works have been completed
Advanced signage will e place on site 7 days prior to the commencement of any closures to inform the public which sections of road will be affected and when the closures will be in operation The restriction is necessary to enable works to be executed on or near the road
Access will NOT be maintained for pedestrians
Access will be maintained for buses and emergency service vehicles for closures taking place on a Sunday Access will NOT be maintained for buses and emergency service vehicles for overnight closures
During the period of the closure, the alternative route is as follows:
1. From the western side of the closure, proceed via Rhondda Road to the eastern side of the closure
2. From the western side of the closure, proceed via Rhondda Road, Gelliwastad Road, Morgan Street, Bridge Street, Bridge Street Roundabout, Bridge Street, Morgan Street, Gelliwastad Road, Sardis road, A4048 Broadway, the A4058 Cross Valley Link Road, A4058 Broadway, and Sardis Road to the eastern side of the closure
