(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council intends, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
The effect of the Order will be to
1. Temporarily prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Victoria Bridge, Bridge Street (A4233) from its junction with Taff Street for a distance of 80 metres in an easterly direction to its junction with Sion Street
2. Temporarily suspend the “Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council (Morgan Street, Pontypridd) (Prohibition of Right Turn) Order 2012” for the duration of the closure to allow vehicular access to Taff Street
It is expected to be operative between the hours of 6:00am – 6:00pm on Sunday 29th October 2017 or until such time as the works are completed
The restriction is necessary to enable works to be carried out on or near the road.
Access will NOT be maintained for emergency service vehicles
Access will be maintained for pedestrians
The alternative route for vehicles is as follows:
From the western side of the closure, proceed via Morgan Street, Gelliwastad Road, Catherine Street, Sardis Road, Broadway, A470 Link Road, Bridge Street slip road and Bridge Street to the eastern side of the closure
From the eastern side of the closure, proceed via Bridge Street, Bridge Street Roundabout and slip road, A470 Link Road, Broadway, Sardis Road, Sardis Road Gyratory System, Catherine Street, Gelliwastad Road and Morgan Street to the western side of the closure.
