PCSO Christopher Medlicott meet with Cwmbach OAP group

PCSO Christopher Medlicott meet with Cwmbach OAP group and handed out free bells in a bid to beat any would be handbag thief.

PCSO Medlicott explains: "The bells can be attached to a purse or handbag and jingle when moved, alerting the owner to a potential theft. We have given the bells away in the hope of protecting the group from opportunistic thieves.

"While the chance of getting the contents of your handbag stolen is low, there are additional things you can do to further lower that risk.

"You should carry your handbag close to you with the clasp facing inwards. Keep it zipped up, make sure your purse can't be seen and avoid carrying valuable or large amounts of cash and you should never leave your handbag unattended, particularly on shopping trolleys."
