Backlash Grows as RCT Council’s School Transport Cuts Leave Pupils Stranded and Communities Struggling
1 Another sorry story I heard yesterday. Whilst I was talking to a friend in Talbot Green discussing the school transport situation, two older ladies said “ sorry to interrupt but can’t help overhearing your conversation, we think it’s disgusting what RCT council have done by removing the school buses, not just for the children but the wider community too “. One went onto say that she had an appointment down the Princess of Wales hospital next week at 9.30 and has booked a taxi in fear of not getting there on time with the bus situation. It is unacceptable that someone has to do this when she should be entitled to her free bus to take her there not pay a bomb on a taxi fare.
2 RCT’s Labour-run council have made themselves unelectable.
3 You’d think so but the sheep will still vote for them
4 I had to attend a meeting at Bryncelynnog this morning and set off ultra early to attend.
Sitting in Reception, it was awful to see our young learners arriving late, some upset and rushing, some embarrassed, and most just flustered and agitated that they were rushing through doors.
On top of this, the pressure on staff to keep answering the buzzer to let them in whilst dealing with their usual calls, admin etc.
Thankfully Bryn seem to be an incredible team making the most of this situation, but I fear the mental health decline from this avoidable mess, for everyone involved.
I was only there 40 minutes or so….but it was draining!
5 Hi, I’ve had to write to my local councillor this morning as we have 3 issues with the changes. Just wondering if there’s anyone else I need to contact to raise the issue?
My son now had to use the service bus between Nantgarw and Church Village. Our issues are:
1. Overcrowded afternoon bus, makes us worry about his safety as there’s only standing room and he gets a bit anxious about whether he’ll get on the bus or not.
2. Mytrip app for the season ticket won’t work for us and we’re paying at the moment. I raised it once with the council, they gave some instructions which I had already tried and I haven’t had the time this past week to go back again.
3. This morning, the bus didn’t stop to pick him up. He’d been waiting for 10 minutes in the rain waiting for it. My husband has had to drive him up to school which he can’t always do.
Any advice on who to raise this further with in addition to the local councillor, will be much appreciated.
6 RCT wake up Llanharry to Ypant

We need our school bus.
Not one Councillor bothered to turn and walk with us.
It took the children over an hour and 25 minutes to walk this morning.
We were forced in some parts to walk in the road due to narrow pathways and cars mounted on the pavements.
The traffic was really busy.
7 Absolutely disgusting our own local councillors voting to stop our children’s school transport… what is going through your heads… your community put their faith in you and this is how you treat them…Hope you have the same opinion when your children are walking to school in all weathers and the dangers that lay ahead of them… you should be ashamed

8 Goes to show our labour councillor treat their voters with contempt and shows the RCT council is a committee run by a dictatorship, welcome to Labour version of communist socialism.
9 Shame on you councillors
