Reminder: A465 Hirwaun to Cefn Coed Weekend Closure.
As part of the ongoing construction works the following weekend closure is required on the A465 between Hirwaun (Rhigos Junction) and Cefn Coed (Junction with A470 roundabout):
Friday 13 from 20:00hrs until 06:00hrs on Monday 16 September 2024.
The main purpose for this closure is to allow for road surfaces to be laid in a number of locations. To undertake this work, in addition to the official diversion route, specific local arrangements also need to be introduced. These are as follows:
Where Swansea Road, Hirwaun joins the Croesbychan temporary roundabout (eastern end of Hirwaun) it will be closed. It will not be possible to cross the A465 at this point. However, as Brecon Road is open, you will be able to use the A4059 as an alternative route to and from Llwydcoed.
In the Baverstock area local arrangements will be in operation for access to premises in the Dynevor Arms area.
Other work will also take place throughout the closure area to maximise the use of this closure, which is required to undertake work that cannot be safely completed whilst the road is open or under traffic management.
