Don’t Fall For It – Falls are not a normal part of ageing
From 16th – 20th September, we will be running a series of information stalls across Cwm Taf Morgannwg focused on preventing falls.
If you or a loved one has fallen, or perhaps you are worried about falling, then our Falls Prevention Service is here to help.
Falls are not a normal part of ageing.
- In Wales between 230,000 and 460,000 people over the age of 60 fall, but over 50% of falls are preventable.
- 50% of people experience loss of confidence after a fall but confidence can be rebuilt.
- Feeling unsteady can contribute to trips and falls but improving strength and balance can make you feel more steady.
If you or a loved one are finding it more difficult to get up and walk around, finding things more difficult when out and about, or are fearful of falling, you may benefit from a falls MOT and exercise class.
If you are visiting our hospitals during these dates, look out for our pop up stalls (information below).
