Mountain Ash man charged with arson after a fire on the forecourt of the petrol station.

On Tuesday morning, 21st November, just before 7.25 am we received a report of a man having attended the Esso garage on Cardiff Road, #Mountain Ash allegedly making threats to staff and also threatening to damage the store. Whilst at the petrol station he is alleged to have started a small fire on the forecourt.

Ryan Corey Matthews, aged 22, from Mountain Ash, has been charged with Arson with Intent to Endanger Life.

He has also been charged with two counts of Assault by Beating of an Emergency Worker; Intentional Strangulation; and Possession of Cannabis. He has been remanded into custody.
