Welsh Labour cut the Wales NHS budget, not once, but twice – in 2012 and again this year
Commenting on the WalesOnline story describing the Welsh NHS as being ‘on its knees’, Welsh Conservative Shadow Health Minister, Russell George MS said:
“The Welsh NHS has been under Labour control for over a quarter of a century. It has faced perpetual underfunding, because Labour Ministers can’t get their priorities right.
“Wales receives £1.20 for every £1 spent on health in England, yet the Labour Government in Cardiff Bay is the only government in the UK to have ever cut an NHS budget, not once, but twice – in 2012 and again this year.
“The Welsh Conservatives would fully fund our NHS, roll out surgical hubs to cut waiting lists and enact a recruitment and retention plan to boost Wales’ NHS workforce by scrapping Labour’s costly vanity projects like spending £100 million on more politicians.”
