TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ALLEN STREET, MOUNTAIN ASH

RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL

(ALLEN STREET, MOUNTAIN ASH)

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2021

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, intends, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.

 

The effect of the Order will be to close the following lengths of streets:-

 

• Allen Street, from its junction with Granville Terrace northbound for approximately 20 metres

 

• Allen Street, from its junction with Granville Terrace southbound for approximately 15 metres

 

The restriction is necessary to enable works to be executed on or near the road in connection with an upcoming flood risk management scheme

 

The closure is expected to be in operation from 25th January 2021 for up to 7 weeks, or until such time as the works have been completed.

 

The alternative route for vehicles is as follows:

 

North – From the northern side of the closure proceed via Allen Street, Aber-ffrwd Road, Richmond Road and Granville

Terrace. From the opposite side of the closure please reverse the above directions

 

South – From the northern side of the closure proceed via Troed-y-Rhiw Road, Phillip Street and Jeffrey Street. From the southern side of the closure proceed via Jeffrey Street, Campbell Terrace, Austin Street and Granville Terrace

 

Access WILL NOT be maintained for emergency services via the diversion

 

Access will be maintained for pedestrians – footpath alongside the closure will remain open
