‘Historic’ innovation centre plans welcomed
Commenting on the Chancellor’s speech to business leaders in Cardiff – and his announcement of a multi million pound innovation centre in Wales, along with his intention to see a ‘Cardiff City Deal’ signed before the March Budget – Welsh Conservative Leader, Andrew RT Davies AM, said:
“These historic plans will ensure we remain at the forefront of scientific innovation and are yet more proof of the UK government’s commitment to Wales.
“Not only will this announcement see our country continuing to lead in this field, it will also mean more jobs and boosted economic growth.
“A hugely welcome commitment to get the Cardiff City Deal signed by March now needs all to focus on ensuring that many millions of pounds are secured for regeneration and infrastructure. This hugely significant strategy has huge potential for communities and businesses right across the region.
“David Cameron and the Conservative team continue to show that they can deliver for Wales. Just imagine what a Welsh Conservative Government could achieve working closely with them.”
