At First Minister’s Questions (FMQs) today, The Leader of the Welsh Conservatives challenged the First Minister to explain why every Plaid-Labour budget has meant higher taxes and more wasteful spending.
Darren Millar said that Plaid Cymru’s support for Labour’s budget served as a reminder that next May, a vote for Plaid Cymru is a vote for Labour.
Millar reiterated Welsh Conservative calls for tax cuts paid for by cuts to wasteful projects such as overseas embassies, ‘gender neutral’ tree-planting in Africa and by reversing the “huge increase in spending on the bloated Welsh Civil Service”.
Commenting, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Darren Millar MS said:
“The Welsh Labour Government’s budget, backed again by Plaid, will mean higher taxes to pay for more wasteful projects.
“Plaid and Labour’s stitch up serves as a reminder that a vote for Plaid is just a vote for Labour and more of the same failures. The pantomime horse of Welsh politics is trotting further and further left.
“In May, Wales will face a choice: more of the same with Plaid and Labour or real change, a strong team and a credible Welsh Conservative plan to fix Wales.”
The full FMQs exchange will be published here in due course.
