How our officers are tackling violence against women and girls

Any form of violence against women and girls (VAWG) is unacceptable, and we continue to work tirelessly with our communities and partners to tackle the issue and ensure that we get the best for our victims, empowering our communities to become safer and stronger.

Today marks White Ribbon Day and the 16 days of action that follow, is a movement that asks men to take action to end VAWG.

This year’s theme encourages men to speak up. You can make the White Ribbon promise here.

Women and girls are disproportionately the victims of violence and abuse, and suffer more at the hands of a partner, former partner or family member and sometimes a stranger. We want to encourage men to hold themselves accountable to women, and to each other.

Detective Constable Tim Davies, Detective Sergeant Andrew Westlake and Detective Inspector Paul Graham, discuss their roles and how they work to provide better care for victims.

If you or someone you know needs help, please contact us, or someone you feel comfortable talking too.
