South Wales Police conducted a joint training exercise last week with many partner agencies involved.
The exercise was aimed to enhance the emergency response and coordination between partner agencies in the event of a major incident.
The scenario simulated a multiple vehicle road traffic collision involving a large number of casualties. Partner organisations worked together to share real-time information and ensure a unified response.
We regularly test our contingency plans and the joint co-ordination of our responses to major incidents, exercises such as these are planned in advance to keep public disruption to a minimum.
Chief Inspector Tim Davies of the Capability Assurance Team said:
“Exercises like this are a great example of multiple agencies working together to assess their joint response to a major incident. They enable us to identify lessons to be learned for the future in order enhance our capabilities in a multi-agency setting.”
