Save the School Transport RCT (Save the School Transport RCT/Wales) have proposed a day of action to highlight the impact of the school transport cuts which were decided by the Council’s Cabinet. This day of action is Tuesday 9th of September.

As your local councillors, we have opposed these cuts since these proposals were announced. We will be taking part in the impact demonstration because 67 students who are attending Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun from Hirwaun are affected by these cuts, expected to find their own way to school by; car, public bus or walking up to 6 miles a day in all weathers.

At 8am on Tuesday 9th September (rain or shine), we will be walking from the furthest points of the village and encourage all parents and students to join in. Please take part and record your journey noting the issues and hazards you experience.
