South Wales Police were called just before 9.25pm on Wednesday July 9,by Welsh Ambulance Service, with a report that a man was having a cardiac arrest on Moorland Crescent, Beddau.
Upon officers’ arrival it transpired that the 46-year-old man had been assaulted causing him to fall to the floor. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but passed away on Sunday, July 20.
35-year-old Luke Jones from Tonteg, Pontypridd, has been charged with manslaughter and appeared at Merthyr Magistrates Court this morning. He has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance on August 19.
