Labour stands idly by as sewage spills skyrocket

Responding to the news that the amount of sewage spills into Welsh Waterways has increased by a third under Labour’s watch this year,  Janet Finch-Saunders MS, Shadow Climate Change Minister, said:

“This damage to our environment and risk to public health is unacceptable and more action needs to be taken by the Labour Government.

“With NRW and the Labour Government unwilling to hold companies to account, I am not surprised that this year’s spillage has increased.

“Water companies in Wales must be held to account for the damage they are doing, if not for fines or prosecution, they will continue to allow spills without any incentive to stop.
