Gething refuses Gilestone Farm questions – “avoidance of scrutiny has become endemic”

Responding to Vaughan Gething’s refusal to answer 12 Written Questions regarding Gilestone Farm, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives said:

“The people of Wales deserve answers, especially when it becomes clear that millions of taxpayers’ cash has been wasted on what is effectively the world’s most expensive birds’ nest.

“Following Mark Drakeford’s dodging of Covid WhatsApp questions on the floor of the Senedd and 25 years of abysmal performance, Labour ministers’ complete avoidance of scrutiny has become endemic.”

James Evans MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Mid Wales added:

“I’m not surprised that Vaughan Gething has chosen not to answer these questions and he continues to shirk his Ministerial responsibility both inside and outside of the Chamber, he has a lot of questions to answer on this rushed purchase, without the Welsh Government carrying out basic due diligence.

“That won’t stop me and Welsh Conservative colleagues from continuing to ask legitimate questions and press the Welsh Labour Government for the answers that the Welsh public want and deserve.”
