Gething’s final economy questions: a record of abysmal failure
Commenting following his exchange with Vaughan Gething at likely his final oral question session as Labour’s Economy Minister, Paul Davies MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Economy Minister said:
“Next week, Labour’s Vaughan Gething could be the new First Minister of Wales. He has spent the last 3 years as Wales’ Economy Minister, so it’s right we scrutinise his abysmal record of failure in that role.
“Economic inactivity is higher than the UK average, employment remains below the UK average, business deaths exceed business births and our farming communities have been let down by a lack of support for jobs in the agricultural sector.
“I have urged the Economy Minister to support our farmers, enact jobs targets and to focus on creating high-paying jobs for Welsh people as opposed to creating high-paying jobs for politicians, but Vaughan Gething has not listened.”
