‘Cranks’ jib raised at FMQs Welsh Farmers say ‘enough is enough’

Following FMQs, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:

“The First Minister is right that we should take the heat out of discussions around farming.

“Farmers are right to be deeply concerned with Labour’s plans, and it does not help when Labour Senedd Members call concerned farmers ‘cranks’.

“Instead of throwing around insults, Labour should listen to farmers and scrap the Sustainable Farming Scheme.”

Ahead of large-scale farming protests at the Senedd, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:

“Farmers in Wales are sending the message that enough is enough.

“The Sustainable Farming Scheme will have a devastating impact on our farming communities, and farmers are rightly not prepared to take it lying down.

“Labour and their coalition partners Plaid Cymru must finally listen, scrap the SFS, and build a scheme that works for our rural communities, not against them.”
