RCT Council give consent for Persimmon  to Construct 2,000 Homes and a 540-place Primary School

Exciting news! The local authority has given the green light for a fantastic new primary school in Rhondda Cynon Taf, boasting a total of 540 places. Persimmon Homes West Wales, our wonderful partners, received approval on 23 November 2023 to bring this vision to life at our Llanilid site.

What’s in store for the school? Well, picture this: two nurseries, two reception, and six infant classrooms, alongside eight junior classrooms. But that’s not all – there will be a dedicated learning resource area and a staff room upstairs. And let’s not forget the amazing outdoor spaces, featuring a 3G all-weather pitch, a habitat zone, and plenty of green space.

For the kiddos, there will be 480 spaces catering to ages five to 11, with an additional 60 nursery spots. And here’s the cherry on top – this new school will seamlessly extend the existing Dolau Primary School, offering a fantastic dual-language experience.

This development is part of Persimmon Homes’ larger plan, which includes outline planning permission for up to 1,850 properties, a primary school (yes, the one we’re talking about!), and even a new town center near Llanharan – all designed with the local community in mind.
