A unit on Treforest Industrial Estate was being used for large-scale cannabis production.
South Wales Police officers from the organised crime unit executed a warrant in the Treforest Industrial Estate after thermal drone imagery suggested large-scale cannabis production.
Entry was forced and three men quickly made off from the scene. They were detained whilst attempting to escape from the roof. They were arrested and later charged with the production of cannabis and have been remanded in court, awaiting trial.
DS Lia Jones commented
“This was another industrial-sized cannabis farm with a total of 650 plants recovered, with an estimated street value of between £230,000 – £690,000.
I’d also like to thank two members of the public who helped officers detain the three men fleeing from the scene. If you have any information on drug dealing or production in your area, please report it to us, and we will act upon the information. You can report to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
