Charged, Gareth Williams, 35, from Abernant, Aberdare has been remanded in custody after a serious assault upon a 38-year-old woman from Hirwaun which was reported on Thursday, July 26.
Detective Inspector Simon Davies said:
“This was a very serious assault upon the victim. Once alerted officers acted swiftly to identify and arrest the suspect and ensure he was charged and remanded.
“Tackling violence and abuse against women and girls is a long-standing priority for South Wales Police and we recognise that concern regarding personal safety and violence is as great as it has ever been.
“The swift action taken against the perpetrator of this vicious attack shows the type of relentless pursuit we will take against those responsible.”
