Gareth Davies reflects on ‘overbearing’ smacking ban 1 year on
Gareth Davies MS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for the Vale of Clwyd and Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Social Services has reflected on the rise in anti-social behaviour since the implementation of the smacking ban.
“This law, this encroachment on the lives of Welsh families is emblematic of the overbearing nanny state in operation, here in Wales.
“The socialists in Cardiff Bay are against freedom and against choice. How you, personally, would choose to discipline your children is not the concern here, it is whether or not the choice should be with parents or a failing Labour Government.
“One year since the implementation of this law, we should be reflecting on the rise in anti-social behaviour, the highest in six years, looking at how best we can combat this as opposed to demonising parents.”
