CTM WISE Programme Weekly Blogs
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board’s (CTMUHB’s) new
Wellness Improvement Service (WISE), which provides a service
to patients to help manage their health, has produced a series of
blogs are online written by clinical experts to support the overall
programme approach.
The wellness ‘coach-led’ service is designed to empower patients
to improve their long-term health and reduce the burden of
symptoms and therefore improve their quality of life. The coach
supports patients look holistically at their health and work on
ways to address what can help them.
Along with the coach-led service, WISE has produced a monthly
blog series covering a range of different health themes to share
clinical expertise and insights for those seeking to improve their
overall health and wellbeing.
The series titled ‘Hoot Blog’, provides helpful information
associated around health and fitness, including information
around the different aspects of the WISE programme.
The topics covered so far range from Irritable Bowel Syndrome to
Loneliness and Men’s Health.
Dr Liza Thomas-Emrus, Clinical lead for the Wellness
Improvement Service programme said: “The aim of WISE is to
empower patients with specific health conditions to develop a
sense of control over their long-term physical and mental health
and aim for wellness and longevity.
“Patients will develop tools to overcome some of the hurdles
faced when it comes to lifestyle and behavioural factors that
impact out health.”
Liza continued: “This is a non-judgmental and inclusive service
to support individuals within our Cwm Taf Morgannwg
communities and our hope is to change the culture in that
everyone is responsible for their own health improvement and
supports our organisational goal of building healthier communities
together.”
