South Wales Police are urging people to be vigilant following reports of suspicious doorstep callers in the Pontypridd area offering to sell products to homeowners.
They are adopting forceful techniques and we believed they are targeting elderly and vulnerable residents.
We received one report that they ran from one house when one resident told them they would be calling the police.
People should look out for elderly neighbours and relatives.
Any suspicious incidents should be reported to 101 or dial 999 if a crime is in progress.
