(NATIONAL CYCLE ROUTE 47 (INCLUDING FOOTPATH 8 PONTYPRIDD AND FOOTPATH 29 ABERCYNON)

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2019

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have a maximum duration of six months

 

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily close the following sections of path:-

 

National Cycle Route 47 (including footpath 8 Pontypridd and Footpath 29 Abercynon)

 

That part of the walking and cycling route that commences on Abercynon Road NGR ST08049288, and proceeds east across the River Taff via footbridge and then it proceeds south east to terminate at its junction with NCN 8 / Taff Trail, NGR ST08359274, 50 metres east of Cilfynydd Recreation Ground near Albion Industrial Estate

 

The restriction is necessary in the interests of public safety

 

During the closure the alternative route is via the existing highway network

 

The Order will be in operation between the hours of 9:00am – 4:00pm from 28th October 2019 to 3rd November 2019 or until such time as the works have been completed
