STREETS OFF MONK STREET, ABERDARE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
(VARIOUS STREETS, ABERDARE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council intends, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months. The effect of the Order will be to: –
1. Temporarily prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to wait at anytime on the following lengths of roads: –
Monk Street, Aberdare
a. North western side, from its junction with Highland Place to its junction with Ty Fry/Unity Street
b. North western side, from its junction with Ty Fry/Unity Street, north eastwards for a distance of 96m
c. South eastern side, from its junction with Trevor Street, south westwards for a distance of 115m
2. Temporarily prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along the following lengths of roads
a. Unity Street/Ty Fry, from its junction with Monk Street to its junction with Graig Street
b. Ynysllwyd Street, from its junction with Monk Street, north eastwards for a distance of 20m
c. Trevor Street, from its junction with Monk Street, south eastwards for a distance of 35m
The alternative routes for vehicles are as follows:
a. From the eastern side of the closure, proceed via Monk Street, Highland Place, Ty Fry, Graig Street and Pendarren to the western side of the closure.
b. From the southern side of the closure, proceed via Monk Street, Mary Street and Ynysllwyd Street to the northern side of the closure
c. From the western side of the closure, proceed via Trevor Street, Tanybryn Street, Mary Street and Monk Street to the eastern side of the closure
For vehicles travelling in the opposite direction, reverse the directions given above.
It is expected to be operative from 3rd April 2018 to 15th April 2018 or until such time as the works are completed
The restriction is necessary to enable works to be carried out on or near the road.
Access will be NOT be maintained for emergency vehicles.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians.
