SAS doctors: get to know your charter

BMA Cymru Wales is urging staff, associate specialist and speciality doctors to become familiar with a charter detailing their rights and responsibilities.
Launched last year by the Welsh Government, the charter ensures that SAS doctors and dentists are properly supported in their professional development and valued in the workplace.
Rachel Podolak, national director of BMA Cymru Wales, said: 'We've negotiated the SAS charter with the Welsh Government, NHS Employers, and the Welsh Deanery.
'This important document outlines the vital role SAS doctors play in the Welsh NHS. It also details what SAS doctors can expect from their employers and what their employers can expect in return.
'We want doctors to read the charter and their rights.'
