‘Caring 4 you Charter’ signed at Cwm Taf!

Cwm Taf University Health Board was delighted to welcome Gill Walton, Chief Executive and General Secretary of The Royal College of Midwives(RCM) and its members to visit our maternity units on (Friday 27th July).

Lynda Williams, Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Services said: “We are delighted to welcome Gill to Cwm Taf today to meet staff on our maternity and neonatal wards.

“We are also proud to be joining many other Health Boards and Trusts in signing the ‘Caring 4 you Charter’ which shows our commitment to all midwives and maternity support workers to improve health, safety and wellbeing at work, so they are able to provide high quality maternity care for women and their families.”

Kerri Eilertsen-Feeney, Head of Midwifery, Gynaecology and Sexual Health at the health board is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to show Gill and her colleagues around the new unit at Prince Charles Hospital and to meet staff across all sites.

Kerri said: “This is a great day for Cwm Taf, being able to sign the ‘Caring 4 you Charter’ demonstrates the eagerness we have to work with staff to improve their health and wellbeing. Caring for staff is high on our agenda and we welcome this opportunity.”

Gill Walton, Royal College of Midwives Chief Executive said: “I am really honoured to have been asked to visit Cwm Taf visit the new unit and to see the work they are doing there. I know they have a really dedicated and committed maternity team working very hard to deliver the best possible care to women, babies and their families.

“I am also delighted that the Board’s maternity service is signing the RCM’s ‘Caring 4 you Charter’. This shows they care not only about the women and babies using their service but also that they value the staff and are taking active steps to ensure their wellbeing.”
