Foster children climbing Mount Snowdon for charity

Foster children climbing Mount Snowdon for charity

Two young foster children will be climbing Mount Snowdon on 22nd July to raise funds for fostering and adoption charity The Adolescent and Children’s Trust  TACT Cymru.

Foster siblings from Aberdare set themselves a challenge to walk up the highest mountain in Wales in support of TACT Cymru. A boy, 8 and a girl, 10 have been in care for five years and are both passionate and regular mountain walkers.

In this family challenge, they will be joined by their long-term foster mother Joy, 58, her own daughter and her partner who is a member of the The Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Service.

All funds raised will be used to provide a variety of activities and services which enrich children’s lives and raise their aspirations.

Joy said: “TACT has been a constant support for me through our journey as a foster family and we feel we want to show our gratitude by fundraising for such a worthy cause, allowing other children to have a fresh start and brighter future that they deserve. I foster because I care, but unfortunately, I cannot help every child. That is why I am turning to other people for help. The funds our family challenge raises can change lives.”
