South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and “the hero next door”

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has teamed up with Fireman Sam to help local communities across south Wales. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of everyone’s favourite firefighter, Fireman Sam will be lending a hand to the Service by supporting charity and fundraising events.

On Saturday 19th August, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service will be holding a sponsored ladder climb at St David’s Shopping Centre, Cardiff, with Sam working hard on the day to help fundraising efforts. He’ll also be cheering on the team as part of the Cardiff Half Marathon Family Fun Day and Cardiff Half Marathon taking place on Saturday 30th September, and Sunday 1st October.

Chief Fire Officer of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service Huw Jakeway said, “South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is committed to serving and helping our local communities and we are extremely pleased to have the support of everyone’s favourite firefighter Sam, who is a real firefighting hero born and bred in Wales.

“We look forward to working together to fundraise for such worthy causes, making South Wales safer.”

Helen Genia Senior Consumer Products Manager, Hardlines, for Europe and the UK explained “We are thrilled to be partnering with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service as part of the 30th Anniversary celebrations for Fireman Sam.

Fireman Sam supports the missions and values of the Fire Service, and it’s great to be working with the team based in Fireman Sam’s home country.”
