Keeping children safe – we’re in it together

Child Safety Week , running 5th-11th June 2017, is the Child Accident Prevention Trust’s (CAPT) campaign to prevent the devastation of serious accidents.

This year’s theme is Safe children: sharing is caring.  We all have a part to play when it comes to keeping our children safe, and nothing has more impact than the voice of experience; whether it’s a parent sharing their story in a newspaper article, friends and family sharing posts on social media or swapping advice over a cup of tea.

This year, CAPT are asking parents, friends and families to show they care by sharing their experience, not just about the horrors of accidents, but the really practical, simple things they do to prevent them.

This year’s theme, “Sharing is Caring” gives an opportunity to help parents and carers learn how to look after their families with confidence, by sharing experience, advice and expertise with the people around them.

Getting involved with Child Safety Week is as easy as following CAPT on Facebook and sharing the advice, information and stories posted about Child Safety Week.

If you want to do more, you can sign up to hear more about the week and download the Child Safety Week action pack and activity sheets, filled with ideas and safety tips to bring the campaign to life.
