HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED ACROSS WALES
Natural Resources Wales is asking people to be alert and prepared for flooding as heavy and persistent rain is expected over most of Wales, but especially affecting North Wales, on Saturday and Sunday (14 and 15 November).
At this stage, while there is still some uncertainty about the location and extent of the rainfall, NRW is keeping a close eye on the Dyfi, Elwy, Conwy and Vyrnwy catchments in particular.
The most intense rain is currently expected from Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning, which could lead to flooding in these catchments.
Natural Resources Wales will issue Flood Alerts and Warnings if rivers reach trigger levels, and will put emergency procedures in place if required.
Scott Squires from Natural Resources Wales, said: “We’re asking people to take great care and to be prepared for flooding.
“Our staff will be out working today and all weekend putting measures in place to prepare for flooding, and to help reduce the impacts on people and their property.
“We advise people to keep an eye on weather reports and local news for details of any disruption in their area.”
