Commenting on the Chancellor’s Budget, Darren Millar MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:
“Today’s Budget was an opportunity to deliver the investment Wales needs through a pro-Union approach that backs our economy, improves our transport infrastructure and creates skilled jobs.
“Instead, growth has been downgraded, national debt continues to rise and welfare spending is increasing, leaving taxpayers footing the bill while vital investment is neglected.
“Disappointingly, there was no commitment to improving the M4, A40 or A55, no u-turn on the family farm tax and no clear plan to ensure Wales receives its fair share of defence investment.
“This Budget has failed to deliver for the people of Wales. The UK needs Kemi Badenoch’s Conservative plan to cut welfare, cut taxes, grow the economy and invest in national security.”
