The wildfire at Llanwonno remains a major incident, but significant progress has been made and there is currently no immediate risk to life or property. Firefighters and partner agencies continue to work together to contain the fire and protect surrounding areas.
A specialist firefighting helicopter, secured by NRW, remains in operation today, supporting crews in hard-to-reach areas.
Smoke may be visible across the valley due to strong winds. If affected, please keep windows and doors closed and follow public health advice.
Please avoid the area, do not use personal drones, and report any information relating to deliberate fire-setting to South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
