Two men have been jailed after admitting to a robbery in Beddau.
32-year-old Conor Watts and 19-year-old Iwan Trewartha, both from the Rhondda, were sentenced on Monday June 29 at Cardiff Crown Court. Watts had previously pleaded guilty to robbery, having a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and two counts of cause administer poison/ noxious thing with intent to injure. Trewartha was sentenced for robbery and two counts of possessing an imitation firearm.
Offices attended an address in Beddau on Friday March 27, 2026, after reports of a disturbance. Following an investigation, officers identified it was Watts who entered the property via a back door and proceeded to attack those in the property, he sprayed an unknown substance over one person before proceeding to threaten with a firearm.
He then stole £1,000 in cash and a safe from the house before fleeing. Officers found the safe in the hedges of the neighbours garden the following morning. Trewartha was also present at the address and following a search we located an empty air pistol box which looked identical to the one recovered from the scene of the robbery.
Watts has been sentenced to seven years and six months in prison. Trewartha has been sentenced to three years and nine months in a young offender institution.

“A quick response from the team, and the bravery and co-operation of the victims, has ensured that Watts and Trewartha have been put in prison for a significant period of time.”
