Traffic and Parking Concerns Raised Ahead of Aberdare Festival in Aberdare Park

Residents living near Aberdare Park have raised concerns over traffic congestion and parking pressures ahead of this Saturday’s Aberdare Festival.

The annual event, organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the park for a full day of free entertainment, live performances, food stalls and fairground attractions.

However, some local residents say the popularity of the event places significant strain on surrounding streets due to the park’s limited parking capacity and the large volume of vehicles arriving throughout the day.

Concerns include congestion on nearby roads, difficulty accessing residential streets, inconsiderate parking, and increased noise levels during major public events held at the park.

The festival itself runs from 11am until 5pm and features tribute acts, dance performances, children’s entertainment and more than 30 food and drink stalls.

Residents are now calling for clear traffic management arrangements and urging visitors to consider walking, public transport, or car sharing where possible.
