“Once again, Hirwaun, Penderyn and Rhigos Matters have published an excellent post that truly serves their residents. Their consistent engagement demonstrates a genuine commitment to keeping people informed. It’s refreshing to see councillors who prioritise their constituents’ needs and maintain such transparent communication with the community.” It’s a shame more councillors don’t follow this example and prioritise residents’ interests over party politics.”
What are your views on the changes to waste collections in RCT? Please commenton the link
Since 30th September 2024, the collection of residual household waste has been undertaken via kerbside collections of standard size black bags only, on a 3-weekly basis.
In an Officer report it states- “In the 12 months following the introduction of standardised refuse collections, refuse tonnages have reduced by 33%, food waste tonnages have increased by 21% and dry mixed recycling has increased up by 11%.”
Do you feel the appearance of our streets have improved with the reduction of wheelie bins but increase of bags on kerbside?
Do you occasionally or regularly fill more than 3 black bags before waste collection day?
Do you recycle more following the changes to waste collections?
Should black bag waste collection go back to every 2 weeks or stay at every 3 weeks?
Would you say there has been an increase or decrease in littering and flytipping locally?
There will be a meeting this afternoon to discuss the changes. Thank you for sharing your views.
