RCTCBC is planning a repair scheme for Croes Bychan Bridge, Croes Bychan Road, CF44 0EJ. The works will involve concrete repairs to the underside of the bridge, removal of the footways/verges and road surfacing, concrete repairs to the top of the bridge deck, application of a waterproofing system, reinstatement of footways & carriageway and masonry repairs.
During the works it will be necessary to install traffic management in the form of either a full closure of Croes Bychan Road, in the vicinity of the bridge, or two way traffic lights. A full closure of Croes Bychan Road would require a diversion route to be implemented via the A465 from Croes Bychan Roundabout, Baverstocks Roundabout and Crematorium Road from western side, or the same route in reverse from the eastern side – please see map below. There are advantages and disadvantages to both traffic management arrangements, as well as cost and programme implications to the scheme.
