Local officers are taking action to address the issue of illegal off-road motorcycles

Local officers are taking action to address the issue of illegal off-road motorcycles in Gelli, Pemtre

Recently, PC Claire Radford and PCSOs David Hughes and Viv Mumford were out on patrol on Tyisaf Road after receiving numerous reports about these bikes.

They caught one guy riding this illegal motorcycle, which, by the way, didn’t even have brakes! That’s a serious safety hazard not just for the rider but for everyone around. The motorcycle was seized under Road Traffic Legislation and will be disposed of, while the 16-year-old rider is facing possible offences of driving without a proper license and not having insurance.

Some might think this is just a minor issue, but it’s really about keeping our roads safe. We are committed to making sure that those who shouldn’t be on the roads aren’t.

Remember, off-road motorcycles can only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission, and they need to be safe and in good condition.

If you see illegal use of these bikes or any other anti-social behaviour in your area, don’t hesitate to reach out and us know. Every bit of information helps!
