From FB: Why can’t the stupid people in charge of RCT? Simply do something about the exiting from the Mountain Ash bowls club.
They’ve used our taxes money to do all this speed work for Abercynon, why not us. The amount of car accidents on it is unbelievable, all because some drivers simply won’t let you pull out.
Before long I can see a big accident happening there with fatalities and then they might do something then.
FB Post: You are absolutely correct about this junction. Originally we had traffic lights at what we called the six ways and everything moved freely and safely. We are now left with a dangerous junction that nobody seems to worry about. Consider the amount of traffic entering the junction from caegarw which is extensive then add Cefnpennar then the bowls club then meithrin then Trem y duffryn. This all adds up to a huge amount of traffic entering a junction with very little sympathy from the main road drivers letting us out. Then consider turning right for Aberdare which is often a dangerous manoeuvre to make. I don’t think it helps having TWO COUNCILLORS living the opposite side. A counsellor on our side would make a good case for the massive amount of voters who want this to happen. All very well to be seen in the rain around overflowing culverts etc. and far better to be seen on that junction taking a real interest in our safety. Please don’t reply with THERE IS A BOX JUNCTION SO CARS Are NOT ALLOWED IN IT. We want safety here sooner than later
FB: I do t know why they don’t re-route the traffic from Abercynon around the town hall, creating a proper roundabout, and remove the traffic lights on Mount Bridge, and by the church.
FB: And what idiot designed the layout of those traffic lights by Newtown with that stupid double lane approaching the lights … when cars then have to merge into the one lane … accidents waiting to happen !
