Rhondda Cynon Taf Council shows disrespect towards the children and parents who attended Rhigos Primary School. Councillor Karen Morgan posed questions to the Cabinet Member for Education.
The Director of Education and Inclusion Services advised Members of the outcome of the recent consultation in respect of the proposal to close Rhigos Primary School with pupils transferring to Hirwaun Primary School by no later than September 2024.

The New Hirwaun Primary School was constructed to accommodate the children from Rhigos Primary School plans were drawn up before 2019. The new Hirwaun Primary School in South Wales was built in 2019 and opened in autumn 2020. The consultation on the closure of Rhigos Primary School in Rhondda Cynon Taf occurred from October 2, 2023, to November 17, 2023.
