Andrew Burrows, 33, from Beddau has been charged with Section 18 GBH
Officers were called just after 10:15 pm on Saturday June 8 with a report of a man having been assaulted on Swan Street, Llantrisant.
Andrew Burrows, 33, from Beddau has been charged with Section 18 GBH with intent and appeared at Merthyr Magistrates Court this morning.
The 32-year-old man who was injured remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Section 18 GBH is the most serious form of assault and is also known as “wounding with intent”. It differs from section 20 in the sense that there must be proof the defendant intended to cause serious harm to the victim. An offence involving intent under section 18 carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
