FMQs: two-thirds of healthcare facilities not inspected in Wales
Commenting following his exchange with Mark Drakeford at First Minister’s Questions, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives said:
“The substantial inspection backlog means we can’t know whether patients are safe in Welsh hospitals.
“Healthcare Inspectorate Wales has not inspected two-thirds of healthcare facilities in Wales in the last 5 years, while many facilities have never been inspected at all.
“Welsh Conservatives want to see the Inspectorate supported to carry out its duty as a critical friend of our Welsh NHS, clearing the inspection backlog, without cuts to its budget from the Labour Welsh Government.”
