A key milestone for the £260 million refurbishment project at Prince Charles Hospital
Tuesday, 21 November, 2023 we saw a key milestone happen at PCH as the larger of the two cranes has done its part for the refurbishment project and been dismantled. Take a look at the time-lapse video here.
The cranes were introduced in June 2022 to facilitate the construction and fit-out of the new plant rooms that service the areas currently undergoing redevelopment. Both cranes have been utilised for the distribution of materials and plant across all sections of work and in particular have been a key asset for the provision of building materials to inaccessible courtyards, roofs, plant spaces and isolated work faces such as radiology. To date, the two tower cranes have completed in excess of 20,000 successful lifts on the PCH project.
The refurbishment project is due to be completed in 2026.
