Labour won’t rule out road charging in Wales
Commenting on his exchange with the First Minister in the Senedd today, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Andrew RT Davies MS said:
“Today I asked the First Minister about the upcoming road charging plans included in the Labour Government’s Environment Bill.
With the current opposition to the blanket 20mph speed limit and the Deputy Minister’s dismissal of the record-breaking petition to rescind it
I sought clarity on the plans to further punish motorists in Wales.
“Regretfully, it became less clear what positive vision the Labour Government has for road charging and unfortunately, his answer will do little to allay public fears.
“In fact, the implication was that if Labour’s anti-car, anti-worker and anti-growth agenda fails to entice the Welsh people onto public transport, Labour will begin to charge people for using their cars.”
