Don’t forget Monday the 18 September Heads of the Valleys road Baverstocks junction is closed for traffic in and out of Llwydcoed
As part of our work to upgrade the A465 to a full dual carriageway, it is necessary for a closure of Merthyr Road (B4276), at the junction with the A465 to take place from 06:00 hrs on Monday 18 September 2023 for six weeks.

Access to residential properties and businesses along Merthyr Road will be from its junction with Cwmynysminton Road.
The closure is needed to allow a new roundabout to be constructed at this location, which will become part of the final junction layout at Baverstock. This involves installing and connecting the drainage for the new roundabout and then laying the road surface along with kerbs.
When the new roundabout opens, it will connect to the new Crematorium Rd roundabout. This is where traffic will leave and join the A465 replacing the access at the Baverstock junction. We will provide you with further details before the road reopens.
