Welsh Labour must ensure fire service is not understaffed

Commenting on the news that an exodus of part-time firefighters has occurred due to controversial management decisions putting lives at risk,

The South Wales Fire Service currently recruiting On-Call Firefighters

“The Labour Government must investigate this issue immediately; we cannot afford to have a shortage of firefighters in Wales.

“If management decisions are resulting in an exodus of firefighter staff, the practices within the fire service must be urgently reviewed.

“With people’s lives at risk, Labour must do all they can to ensure the recruitment and retention of the workforce before it is too late.”

South Wales, On-Call Firefighters

In South Wales, On-Call Firefighters make up almost half of our operational workforce and are generally located in rural communities, small towns and villages.

The South Wales Fire Service are currently recruiting for On-Call Firefighters at the stations below. We are particularly interested in applicants who can provide cover between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
